A warm welcome to our school and Team Albert!
I hope that you will find all the information you need to make your time with us as productive and happy as possible.
We are proud holders of the Investors in Families Award, ICT Mark and PLATINUM Green Flag Award.
We are a Values school, enhancing our well-being provision for everyone within Team Albert. If you have any questions or suggestions, then please feel free to contact me at school.
The School’s primary aim is for the children to develop lively, enquiring minds, reaching their full potential within a happy and secure school.
All children need to acquire certain basic skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT and should have access to an all round curriculum, which is relevant, interesting, and which stretches children of all abilities within a stimulating environment.
We aim to develop the whole child to be happy, motivated and independent with a love of learning. They need to be sure of their own place within the school and the local and global community in order to be flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing world.
Albert Primary School was founded in 1876. The building is of grey stonework sourced from a local quarry that is now Belle Vue Park. Much of its original character has been preserved and it now holds Grade 2 listed status. The school has some unusual Victorian artwork by Norton Nante and parts of the school were designed by highly respected Victorian architect J. Coates Carter. The school became Albert Board School in 1899 when this stretch of Stanwell Road was renamed in honour of Prince Albert (1819-1861), husband of Queen Victoria.
The school has approximately 460 children from Reception to Year 6 including the 72 place Nursery Unit.
